Questions about ourwarranties & certifications
Is Black Ladder a certified roofing and exterior installer?
Yes. We are a certified installer for VELUX skylights, Owens Corning roofing, and James Hardie siding: which means factory training, correct installation, and access to enhanced manufacturer warranties most contractors can't offer.
What is the difference between a material warranty and a workmanship warranty?
A material (manufacturer) warranty covers defects in the products themselves: shingles, skylights, siding. A workmanship warranty covers the installation. We back your project with both, so you're protected on the product and the labor.
Are you licensed and insured in Massachusetts?
Yes, Black Ladder Group holds Massachusetts MA CSL 116010 · HIC 205360 and carries full general liability and workers' compensation insurance. We provide proof before any project begins.
Why does manufacturer certification matter for my warranty?
Manufacturer warranties are only honored when the product is installed to spec by a certified installer. Hiring an uncertified crew can quietly void the coverage you paid for: certification protects your investment.
What happens if something goes wrong after installation?
If an issue traces to our workmanship, we make it right under our workmanship warranty. If it's a product defect, we help you claim the manufacturer warranty. Either way, you have one local, accountable team to call.
